I’m proud to announce the arrival of Brogan on Monday, 6/19 at UW Medical Center. He was 8 lbs, 7 oz at birth, and 20.5” long. We had a bit of difficulty in his first day, as Shannon lost about half her normal blood volume and took a while to stabilize, and Brogan went to the neonatal intensive care unit for some oxygen as his lungs took some time to empty of fluid, but by Tuesday the family was back together again and beginning recovery. We were released from the hospital on Thursday evening.

Taking after his mother, he’s got a full head of thick brown hair and is a good sleeper. He’s in the mode of life now where he’s either eating or sleeping, and sometimes both.

Brogan sports two middle names – Daniel after my dad who passed away 12 years ago, and Dennis after Shannon’s dad who passed away last year. We figured we’d better take advantage of any naming opportunity that we had, and that turned out to be a good choice since Brogan will be our only pregnancy.
