Last night I had a fantastic time with some of my church plant coaches, Rich and Rose Swetman of Vineyard Community Church in Shoreline, WA. On the drive home, I decided it would be helpful to brain-dump some of the prophetic encouragement that we sensed in prayer, so I recorded that in my iRiver.

Beware! These are both heavy on background noise (recorded on my car drive home, and my new car isn’t exactly quiet 🙂 ), unscripted, just a brain-dump. But they may be helpful for some of you.

I was thinking about the part of your podcast that was asking if you did something wrong. I heard you got it answered no but I thought I would add this thought just for the next time you run into trouble.
I was asking Roy recently about God calling me to do something.I was sure He asked me to do this task. I was excited, I knew He had called me, and it had been quite a “God” thing. And just about as soon as I got into this task, I ran into a huge wall. I was shut down. So when I asked Roy what the theology is on this he told me that there really is no theology that says things will get easier when God calls you. I know it sounds simplistic and it was a reminder to me. I knew as soon as he said it it was true.
Something that encourages me is that when I choose something hard, I really do reap more of a benefit to myself. Take marriage for instance! lol. My Father, My Dad, always has some better vision than I ever had.

So I encourage you to go on because even though this all hasn’t worked out the way you thought, there is really no doubt God has called you. And if He has called you, He will go ahead of you, He will prepare a path (rough as it may be!). Sometimes I feel like I am standing next to a tall cliff, and suddenly a rope is thrown down…

    Luv ya guys,

    Martin
