There was an excellent interview with President Carter last night on NPR exploring the convergence between church and state. I love what this man has done in his post-presidency: working with Habitat for Humanity, proactively negotiating peace between warring peoples, and being a voice for social justice. I find him to be a deeply Christlike man.

You’ll enjoy the above interview. It touches on the Southern Baptist Convention, abortion, Christian Zionism and rapture, Israel, intelligent design, and other topics.

I heard some of that this morning on NPR – he described his dissatisfaction with increasing fundamentalism in the SBC, and his withdrawal from it, despite his continued commitment to being a conservative evangelical Christian.
