I just finished up the cover letter for our 2004 tax-deductible contributions report. This letter goes out to anybody that we can track who gave financially the the church.

Dear Friends of Mt. Si Vineyard Church Community,

As 2004 closes and 2005 begins, we want to thank you for your generosity in supporting the ministry that God has called us all toward. In our second year as a church plant, we have seen growth in our relationships with God, and with each other.

Together in 2004 we have impacted our community in a variety of ways:

We did small service projects to show people God’s love in a practical way:
· We changed smoke detector batteries in the apartments and homes of our closest neighbors.
· We handed out Valentine’s Day gift bags to 31 families.
· We gave bags of food to the same group of people.
· We gave away eight cases of bottled water at local festivals.

We led two marriage workshops which involved nine couples.

We started running the Alpha Course, which received excellent reviews from attendees (both Christians and seekers).

We hosted our first conference on the topic of healing prayer ministry, and attendees came from three area Vineyards and four churches here in Snoqualmie Valley.

We also helped people through hard times. We’ve prayed for new jobs, physical healing, safe travel and restoration of marriages. We’ve served the homeless and the addicted in practical ways.

We saw Lori Hefner’s healing after her cancer diagnosis.

We’ve taught some 25 children in Kids Church that Jesus is as real for them and loving to them as He is for their parents.

In 2005, the Lord is leading us into a better understanding of being a community of faith and hope and healing, a people who are sent into the world to proclaim and demonstrate the goodness of God’s kingdom.

We’ll study the overarching story of God in 2005, beginning with the beginning and ending at the new beginning. We’ll study spiritual gifts, the history of God and faith in action.

We have specific ideas about how we will see God’s Kingdom grow in our valley:
· We’re continuing to fine tune our marriage workshop focused on giving our friends and neighbors (and ourselves!) practical tools to use in order to have a healthy, fun, fulfilling marriage.
· We’re continuing to host Alpha course so that spiritual seekers have a fun, safe, friendly forum for discussing the basics of the Christian faith.
· We’re entering into a partnership with other area churches to provide opportunities for healing prayer to everybody we find, and specifically those who wouldn’t call themselves followers of Christ.
· We’ll be focusing on some very specific ideas about building community. Stay tuned for more details (but look at the calendar on the church’s website for some clues: breakfast, X-Box nights, Super Bowl parties and potluck dinners are a starting point).

In addition to local missional work, we have also entered into a cross-cultural missional partnership with the Vineyards in Nicaragua and have begun to support a missionary family working among the Uighur peoples in central Asia.

We will continue to seek the Lord as we blend ancient and future practices of Christian faith, all aimed at deepening our own participation in the ongoing story of God.

Please find enclosed a report that details your financial contribution to Mt. Si Vineyard during 2004. If you notice any discrepenceies between your records and ours, please contact Pat via email (pat@mtsi.org ) or telephone (425)888-VINE(8463)

A few legal notes that we include to clarify tax deductibility issues:

1 No goods or services were providedto you by the church in connection with any contribution, or their value was insignificant or consisted entirely of intangible religious benefits.

2. Intangible religious benefit means that the intangible religious benefit provided by the church is exclusively for religious purposes and is not sold in a commercial transaction outside the donative context.

3. Donations for materials at the Book & CD Table are not usually tax-deductible.

Thank you for donating your time, energy and money to this effort!
