There are three new worship albums out that I like a lot: Chris Tomlin: Arriving; Tim Hughes: When Silence Falls; and Matt Redman: Facedown.

On Tim Hughes’ album, there’s a song called Consuming Fire which goes like this:

Verse 1:
There must be more than this
oh breath of God come breathe within
There must be more than this
Spirit of God we wait for you
Fill us anew we pray
Fill us anew we pray

Chorus:
Consuming Fire
Fan into flame
a passion for your name
Spirit of God
fall in this place
Lord have your way
Lord have your way
with us

Verse 2:
Come like a rushing wind
Fill us with power from on high
Now set the captives free
leave us abandoned to your praise
Lord let your glory fall
Lord let your glory fall

I like that song as a prayer, especially a corporate prayer. It reminds me a lot of the lyrics for Dwell, which I also am deeply impacted by. The choruses are quite simlar:

Dwell
Songwriter: Casey Corum
Chorus:
Not our will, but Yours be done
Come and change us
Not our will, but Yours be done
Come sustain us

Yes yes yes, this song also helped and continues to help me. I asked a friend @ how do i get that passion for god back in my life@ so that my relationship with god can grow and that evening we sang this song in my church. It was the answer i needed. The answer just pray and ask god to fill me anew. Tim was given thee words to answer that very question for me and probably many more lost and bewildered christians who needed that fan to rekindle the flames of fire and passion.

Thanks be to god for the inspiration he gives to those who listen to him and write songs.

haha yes this song touched my heart. It told me a message that no matter Satan makes you choose the wrong path God is always beside you. I like this song because it gave a meaning of praising God during camp .
