I spent the Thanksgiving week with my wife’s family in Billings. We went largely to spend time with Shannon’s dad, who has been battling cancer for almost a decade now. Also, the youngest son in the family, is getting married today (I had to fly home early and miss the wedding).
The prognosis for Dennis’ recovery isn’t good, but we got to have a great time together with family. All the kids were able to spend time with Dennis, and Kaileigh got to play with her grandpa and grandma.
I’m thankful that we got a chance to spend time with Dennis, and that his hospice care has him relatively comfortable.
I’m thankful that my wife’s family has been able to prepare for Dennis’ transition.
I’m thankful that God allowed my daughter to meet her great grandfather and her grandfather, before they go to join him.
