Continue reading →: ★ Thoughts on the Off-The-Map Roadshow
I was able to attend the Roadshow last night. I had a good time, and a few things that happened were particularly sticking in my brain. First, if you don’t have any context for this note, please go to Justin Baeder’s blog and check out his excellent notes. The best…

Continue reading →: ★ The paradox of the Gospel
One of the more remarkable transitions we’re undergoing here in the West is the ability to be okay with paradox, mystery, loose ends. Which is good, because the Gospel is a story filled paradox. Some examples: 1. The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, and it is not yet come.…

We’re going through a serious time our TV addiction in our family. The little one is mesmerized by Finding Nemo, to the point that she’s a stone statue when it’s on. If it’s not Nemo, it’s Spot. Spot is like beat poetry set to childrens’ video. Another member of my…

Continue reading →: Valentines Day Mission Accomplished
I described on Thursday our Valentine’s Day giftbag project. We handed out 35 gift bags today. All in all it was a good experience. Lots of folks didn’t come to their doors, so we left the bags outside the door. A few seemed overwhelmed. Two asked what kind of church…
