Every year I try to do the One Week 100 People challenge hosted by @lizsteelart and @m.holmes.art.
Because I like gesture based character work, and because every year I see massive improvement over the week, I love this focused time.
This year I’m really trying to explore a lot and rebuild some core skills since I’ve been out of the habit lately. So I’m remembering how I want to approach both gesture driven sketches and smaller figures with energy and weight.
Day 1

Day 2
I decided to paint a bit today too. Getting pretty happy with much of what I’m throwing together.. will enjoy the next few days as things improve. I stopped at figure 88 today; 100 will be easy to hit early in tomorrow’s play.

Day 3
Worked from a coffee shop today because I only had one meeting and lots of emails. Got some sketches in and a little bit of paint. I’m officially at 100, but will keep cranking this week though perhaps slower.

Days 4 and 5
I sketched a total of 134 figures. Things slowed down as I had an increase in migraine attack. Did a batch of sketches tonight at a concert before the band came on, so no paint but lots of characters to look at. Very fun experience this year doing this challenge and I will continue.
