A while ago I read that I’d found a new book that dealt with theology and John Coltrane.  After reading the first dozen pages or so – the preface and introduction, and into the first chapter, really – I LOVED it.  So much that I paid for the print book, friended the author on Facebook, and have been telling folks they need to read this book.

I wrote this on amazon.com:

I started reading the Kindle version and loved it so much that by the time I was into chapter 1, I ordered the print version and have started recommending it to friends and to students of theology that I teach.

I know I’m gonna need to have fingers on paper for this one, and I’m looking through the vinyl stores for copies of the Coltrane recordings that I don’t have.

This whole thing’s sacred – theology and music; reading printed books; shopping for used vinyl; thinking deeply.
