Someday soon I’ll finish up the main post introducing the next course I’m teaching at The Seattle School.  Briefly, though, I’ll be teaching SFD 526: Celtic Spirituality this coming spring.  It’s a spiritual formation course that looks at Celtic Christianity’s unique flavor.

We will be using these books in their entirety as required reading for the course:

Exploring Celtic Spirituality by Ray Simpson.  It has limited availability in the US but is available directly from the publisher at http://www.kevinmayhew.com/exploring-celtic-spirituality.html

The Celtic Way of Prayer: The Recovery of the Religious Imagination by Esther de Waal.

We will also use selected portions of these two:

Celtic Spirituality (Classics of Western Spirituality), Ed. By Oliver Davies.  Introduction  pg 3-25.

The Celtic Way of Evangelism, Tenth Anniversary Edition: How Christianity Can Reach the West . . .Again, by George Hunter.  Chapter 4 (The Celtic Community in Formation and Mission).
