This week I've been thinking about the need to slow myself down and listen.
One of the ways that I am most able to listen is when I choose to step outside the house or office and take a hike. Or sit by a river, or find a flower garden, or ride a bicycle. Partly it's about unplugging from the grid, but mostly it's about admiring the work of the Creative God, and reflecting upon my own nature as a creature.
A short while ago I found these words from St. Basil, written to remind his brothers and sisters to do that very thing – to see the word of God in nature. May they bless you as they've blessed me.

one speck of dust is enough to occupy your entire mind in beholding the art with which it has been made. …
