I’m blogging here a previous paper that I wrote for my churchhistory course at Bakke Graduate University. It was written for my first course, in May 2006.

Conclusion and Bibliography

Conclusion

Through study of the values and practices of Benedictine spirituality and in particular Benedict’s Rule, Mt. Si Vineyard has been able to incarnate many values and practices that help us to grow in our own mission and in our time and place. In expressing the values of prayer, mindfulness, obedience and humility, we find ourselves expressing the ideal of Jesus and forming a virtual partnership with modern-day Benedictines as we seek to take the best of what we see in them in order to help our community shape itself in Christlikeness. The vision of Benedict continues to impact not just Benedictine monastics, but our own incarnational missional community in the suburbs of Seattle.
