Wendell Berry would make a great Celtic monk

I don’t read much poetry, but I do love the work of Wendell Berry – his poetry, his novels.

I love his view of nature, his understanding of the big book of creation, and his commitment to living with his feet (literally) in the dirt to be grounding for me too.

Last night, before our friends Matt and Colleen and Hiroshi Truth came over for dinner, I was sitting on the deck in our little back yard, enjoying the flowers in bloom and the chirping of birds and the mountain quietly behind me. And I found a few minutes of peace, which is really all I can ask for these days.
