I heard one of the best sermons on the Advent story a week or so ago and forgot to post it here…
Here are some vignettes of the Christmas narrative from Matthew 1 and 2, by Ray Bakke, at Vineyard Community Church in Shoreline (MP3, 40 min).
Ray is the chancellor of Bakke Graduate University, and as you hear this, you’ll get a great sense of Ray’s gift for teaching and church history. I’m listening to it again in the background now..
Ray’s take on Jesus as an undocumented migrant escaping political persecution is especially interesting to me, in light of contemporary political discussions about immigration.
