★ Digging in

I’m finding good ways to slow down and dig in with my spiritual life. Getting more into a rhythm of praying the Hours, using Prayers for Springtime. Having spent last year trying to get into a good rhythm using Prayers and Readings From the Northumbria Community, I love the Celtic spirituality from CDP but more love the psalms from the Tickle book.

I also found a nice selection of books on Benedictine spirituality and Jesuit spirituality earlier this week at Powell’s Bookstore in Portland. I just finished reading The View from a Monastery (so-so, but a nice breather), and have now started The Cloister Walk, two of the five I picked up from Powell’s. I’m finding ways to carve out time on my commute for calm, contemplation. I have great hopes for the Lenten season to lock in a rhythm of life.
