Last night I listened to this NPR story on new therapies for malaria reaching remote parts of Africa on my drive home from a job interview. It features Doctors Without Borders, an agency of health care specialists who serve the medical needs of the poor all over the world while remaining politically distanced, like any relief organization should.
Everything I’ve read about DwB has been fascinating and inspirational. I think that if I were 17 and going into college today, I would STRONGLY consider medical school with an eye toward DwB.
If I couldn’t do that, I would look into becoming a missionary pilot.
Or a photojournalist.
Of course, I know that God calls us into our vocations, and I am excited about God’s calling on me now and the fruit that it has borne in a wonderful wife and family; but I also know other paths that I resonate with…
