★ Urban Tribes

After ordering it from the local library and having it arrive when I was out of town two other times, I finally got my hands on Urban Tribes.
A Generation Redefines Friendship, Family, and Commitment

I’m really enjoying this one, and it’s putting a lot of language to a group of friends I had in my early to mid 20s. I also wonder if this type of tribe is really what I’m trying to craft in this church (and whether that’s a good thing or simply unrealistic). Still half the book to go.

Where the heck do you have all of this time to read?!?!?! You must be a quick reader or something…you are ALWAYS reading!

OK…maybe I am a bit jealous. All I seem to be reading lately are textbooks.

Cannot wait for summer so I can actually read something other than Abnormal Psych or Philosophy of Ethics.

I have a sickness, Kat. I'm an addict, and even more cowbell won't cure it. But I do love to read, and make time for it. Urban Tribes was finished mostly in the late-night hours waiting for Kaileigh to fall asleep, in between family doctor visits, that sort of thing. Some I finish faster than others. I'm still working on N. T. Wright's hefty New Testament and the People of God. I find that I highlight more than I leave virginal in that book, which slows me down.
