I got decent sleep last night. Fought waking up this morning – partly because I’m still tired from travel and time change; partly because of my weird dream-upon-waking:

I ran into Steve Sjogren (Mr. Servant Evangelism) in the parking lot as I was laying down on the ground working on my motorcycle. He came up and introduced himself. I was telling him how much we appreciate his ideas and I liked his book Community of Kindness (probably this part came from the fact that I’m looking for Rob Lewin today who co-wrote that book). The dream transitioned from that moment to me being with Steve Nicholson (Mr. Church Planting) and asking him cp questions. Most of the final part of the dream was me taking Steve in his rental car and showing him through the buildings in North Bend that we’re considering renting office/training space in. Steve kept saying that it was getting late and he had to go, but then he’d ask me another question or notice some strange little detail that I hadn’t before – like the circus jugglers practicing in this basement; or the Pike Place Market – style market in an old abandoned warehouse and he’d run off dragging me trying to figure out what was happening. Very strange stuff. (Keck? Rose? Dream help please? ;-))

It’s interesting hearing the wide variety of comments from yesterday. There are many different interpretations of “what Bert was saying we’re going to focus on in the future”. Gordon Fee’s talk was fantastic for some (myself included), disappointing to others.

This morning: Gordon Fee leads devotions at 9, a break till 10 when we have worship again and then Rick Olmstead.
