Just off the wire, Pope John Paul II died earlier this hour.
He was elected to papacy 26 years ago; I can remember being a grade school kid on the playgrounds in Montana and hearing that he’d been elected.
May God bless his church, the one holy universal catholic and apostolic church, as one of its streams’ leaders enters the presence of God. And may those of us in other streams of the church bless our sisters and brothers with grace as they grieve.
