OK, taking a deep breath here…

I think I’m back from another mini-hiatus from blogging. I still have some things bouncing around my world that won’t make this page, but here we go with the stuff that will.

myopic pilgrim writes a good post on post-holiday blues here. Go check him out.

A lot of what I’m trying to deal with these days is more emerging church stuff. Tallskinnykiwi goes deep here. Just before easter when I was looking for a resource I found a website full of scathing criticism (in case you dont’ know the difference between critique and scathing criticism, just turn the “fundamental assumption of pure evil and satanic delusion” knob to 11). I don’t know why I took it to heart so much – anybody who lumps Eugene Peterson, Dallas Willard, Richard Foster and Brennan Manning together as pied pipers leading people away from the One True Faith – that person’s living a different One True Faith than I am. I should have stopped reading when it listed Rick Warren as one of the key leaders of the emerging church. (huh?). But, fascinated in the same way that one is with train wrecks and that show with Flavor Flav and Brigette Nielson, I had to look a bit more. Shouldn’t have.

I’m also trying to synthesize a bunch of my reading and beliefs for our leadership team, whom I realize now that I have to do a much better job of communicating this portion of our vision amongst.

But I feel like I’m on the road to wellness again. Today and tomorrow Shannon and I are hanging out at an Alpha conference. I get to have a fun breakfast discussion this morning with Todd Hunter and some folks in the same boat I’m in. Can’t wait. Will blog, sometime.
