I’m afraid that today my family and I set back Catholic-Protestant unity at least a hundred years. here’s how it happened:
Kaileigh and I went to Aquinas Catholic Bookstore so that I could look at books and we could see about picking up some incense for this weekend’s festivities. I was carrying the little girl in my arms as I went in, and as soon as we got into the store (really cool little brick building in Kirkland), she reared back and threw up all over herself, me, and the carpeted floor. I sheepishly walked the three steps over to the clerk and was starting to tell her I was sorry and would help clean up the floor when Kaileigh did it again. We were ushered straight outside with a roll of paper towels…
And of course there was no way I could buckle her into the car and help clean up the mess, so I continued to apologize profusely, went back to the car, took off Kaileighs’s shirt and buckled her into her carseat, took off my shirt and put on a fleece jacket, and drove home.
So much for future unity 🙂
