I’ve removed the “recent comments” section of my blog template. I really enjoyed having the ongoing conversation there, as I’d love for this blog to be more dynamic and dialogue-based than it is, but…

I run the wpblacklist plugin, I import the latest master blacklist file daily form jayallen, and still there are 3 or 4 or 5 comment spams at the top of the list.

I give in. I’m keeping comments turned on, but you won’t see the latest comments on the main page. Please keep commenting; I’ll have to check them from the wp admin software instead.
