We spent two nights between Managua and Granada, then one night in Granada itself. At Hotel Norome we had a lovely time growing friendship with the pastoral couple here at La Viña in Managua. We were able to celebrate and honor their hard work in this church plant.
The location itself was fantastic, on the edge of a volcanic crater filled by a lake. The only problem was that the monkeys living in the trees outside our hotel scared the living daylights out of me. The first morning as the sun broke over the horizon, roosters began to crow and the monkeys howled. I was awakened from a deep slumber with a deep conviction that there were demons in my room, and that annoyed me to no end. I was happy that my initial response was to pray the Jesus prayer, and then as I woke up further and realized that it was a natural voice, I thought it was a wild boar, and then possibly monkeys.
Satisfied that no spiritual warfare was needed on the ceramic tiled floor, I went back to sleep for another hour.
Tonight we teach and demonstrate (God willing) the spiritual gifts. Tomorrow we visit another site of the orphanage that we are also partnering with, go to the market, buy coffee and head for a leadership meeting. Friday we head home.
