I had coffee yesterday with two other local Vineyard church planters. Two of us know each other and are sent out from the same church; the third of us moved from the midwest to plant in an urban center. Geographically, he’s between the two of us, maybe 25 minutes’ drive away on both sides. For a lot of reasons I was very much looking forward to meeting him and hearing his story.
We had good getting-to-know-each-other time, each alking about our stories, how we sensed God calling us to plant, why we felt led into the area that we’re in, what God was doing in our churches and challenging us in. It was fun to hear our new friend about the culture he’s seeing here – not so different from where he came from, but with more people who have absolutely no exposure to Christianity whatsoever.
It’s a good time, hanging out with people called to do the same kinds of things that you are.. good community time.
