★ Worship Setlist 10/6

I currently lead worship in one of our home groups. I enjoy doing this, even though it’s nervewracking to me and I get really nervous. Anyway, I thought it might be an interesting exercise to post worship setlists and the thought behind them. If this is interesting to any of you, leave me a comment and tell me if you want it to continue, and whether you’d like to see setlists from Sunday worship sets (which I don’t lead) as well.

Today’s Scripture: Romans 3. I wanted to focus the worship set on God’s mercy and faithfulness.

Worship Set:
Lead Me to the Father (Craig Musseau)
Come and Fill Me Up (Brian Doerksen)
Pour Out My Heart (Craig Musseau)
You are My King (Amazing Love) (Billy James Foote)
Blessed Be the Name (Andy Park)

Lead Me to the Father (Craig Musseau)
An uptempo song that brings us into an expectation of God’s presence…

Come and Fill Me Up (Brian Doerksen)
Recognition of and desire for the presence of God’s spirit – repentance and refilling. Good focus on mercy.

Pour Out My Heart (Craig Musseau)
Closer in intimacy, a praise song that recognizes God’s faithfulness

You are My King (Amazing Love) (Billy James Foote)
A recent favorite of mine. I included it partly because it’s the most familiar one in this set for this group. Places the focus of my acceptance and forgiveness squarely on Jesus, which is the point of the second half of Romans 3.

Blessed Be the Name (Andy Park)
Another focus on the faithfulness of God. This one is intimate, both worship and praise. I usually need a calm, quiet time after this one as it centers me quite well.
