Over lunch yesterday a friend brought up this question:
“If Jesus were incarnated today, where do you think he would live?”
Of course, being an American, my snap answer in my mind was “America, of course. (He shed his grace on thee ;-))”.
But this is a really interesting question, isn’t it? If Jesus was the kind of person who would be incarnated in the American culture, why was he born in Nazareth, raised in Galilee of Judea, in Israel?
If we expect that Jesus today would live here in the US, doesn’t that translate directly to Jesus having been born in Rome instead?
