I’m finding, happily, that when I wake up my thoughts are frequently turned to God. (Sometimes, though to a “what the heck was THAT about?” if I had weird dreams.)
My prayer this morning was that the Lord would show us how to pray for each other today in church.
I’m reading Wimber’s Power Healing yet again. And I’m realizing that we often start our service late, my sermon (which is really a blend of sermon and discussion, not quite either) runs late, and I want to honor peoples’ time so we dont pray for each other as much as I want.
But the most powerful times of gathering we’ve had were when we make the time to meet each other where we’re at. So today we’re going to do that.
It’ll also be easy not to “force fit” a ministry time onto the sermon. We’re doing Matt 4:12-17 and digging into that Isaiah 9:1-7 reference that Matthew points us to.
The people living in darkness have seen a great light…
++ Lord, may we not shut our eyes to your light. ++
