We’re going through a serious time our TV addiction in our family. The little one is mesmerized by Finding Nemo, to the point that she’s a stone statue when it’s on. If it’s not Nemo, it’s Spot. Spot is like beat poetry set to childrens’ video.
Another member of my family who shall remain nameless is having serious withdrawals during the 5 days a week when American Idol isn’t on.
So we’re taking a break from TV this morning, and popped in a kids CD to listen to. It’s Ranger Bud from the Rockin’ V (Bud Reberry, singing cowboy-kids-worship songs, from the Boise Vineyard). It’s pretty cool stuff. It’s not me, but it’s pretty cool stuff.
I really got to think a while, as Kaileigh’s dancing to “I love you more than I love my horse” and other similar songs, that this is just Bud being Bud. I know he’s gone off and planted a church now, but it’s clear from this album that he’s just being Bud, a Singin’ Cowboy (note, there’s no ‘g’ in that word, wouldn’t be right).
Lord, help me to be who I really am.
