★ A film request

In our plant, we’re discussing our way through Matthew this year. Instead of reading the text, We’re watching the Visual Bible’s representation of Matthew, which is actually pretty cool. I love the fact that Jesus actually has a sense of humor, and isn’t some mystical space cadet.

But more and more, I think that when Mel’s done with The Passion, I’d love to see somebody film an adaptation from The Message. That’d be so awesome!!!

I also like this visual representation because the folks who wrote the screenplay have some obvious interpretation that they’re doing; it’s a great reminder to us that we ALL have our own grids through which we view Scripture, but sometimes when it’s visually represented it’s easier to notice.
