On Friday and Saturday, our momma church sponsored a healing prayer ministry training session with Derk Stevenson of Word & Works Ministries. Derk used to be a pastor in the Vineyard movement, and then felt that the Lord called him into a healing-prayer-training role in a translocal and transmovement/denomination form.

This was a great time. Since I’ve been in Vineyard churches since I graduated from college in ’91, I’ve been exposed to an effective theology of the Kingdom, and of healing, and experience in the gifts of the HS as used in healing environments. And in fact there wasn’t anything new in the teaching materials, but it’s all solid stuff. Derk and his wife Priscilla teach in a very authentic, down-to-earth, comfortable way. And the HS is very powerfully working through them.

Best yet was that God showed up in big ways. I saw physical, spiritual and emotional healings. Carpal tunnel, back problems, tennis elbow. Re-invigoration in personal walks with Jesus. Jesus recieving the cares and burdens of worn out warriors. And that was just the stuff that I got to see.

It was awesome.
