I started to write something earlier, but…
So we had a Super Bowl party as an open-door event at the place our church meets (the senior citizens center, complete with bigscreen TV and full kitchen and pool tables). We had a couple of guests. My brother in law who grew up as a Mormon. The father of one of the 8 year old girls who comes occasionally (he came for church also, and then back for the Super Bowl, easily the most exciting portion of the weekend for me).
Yeah, we saw The Halftime Show. Yeah, Janet & Justin offended me. Frankly though, I was more offended by the dance than the ending, which was by no means “accidental” as was initially reported. Yeah right. I was taught this little saying when I worked in software testing: “Proper planning prevents (pretty? uh, not really) poor performance”.
They did what I’m sure that they wanted – got the nation talking, and certainly Janet’s album will sell better now. Yay. Good for her.
Something got imprinted on my little girl’s brain from Sunday, and I’m pretty sure I don’t like it. Is it my fault? Sure. But you’d think that the Super Bowl would be relatively safe for families to watch.
