the friday five

At this moment, what is your favorite…

1. …song?

The last few days, it’s a Ziggy Marley cover of “True to Myself”, from Live from the Mountain Music Lounge 9. I’m also starting to learn John Mayer’s tune “Daughters”.

2. …food?
Last craving: Cheetos.

3. …tv show?
VH1’s Bands Reunited, which I just discovered. More blogging on this later.

4. …scent?
My daughter’s hair after we put the curly-hair-goop (Infusium?) into it. It smells like new life.

5. …quote?
One:
“May you experience the love of Christ, even though you will never fully understand it. Then you’ll be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” – ephesians 3:19 NLT

Two:
“God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” – colossians 1:27 NIV

Christ in me is the hope of glory. I find myself turning that one over and over and over in my mind, like savoring the best chocolate. I find myself mesmerized – realizing that God’s glory, and the hope of its ongoing life, rests in me, in my Christlikeness, but more importantly in my willingness to let Christ live ever increasingly in me. I frequently want to shake God by the shoulders and say, “do you realize how risky THAT particularly plan of yours is?”

But I can never find his shoulders.
