★ Christmas!

We went to the home I grew up in for Christmas and spent a few days with my family in Trout Creek, Montana. I had a great time with my family, and with friends from the “neighborhood” (everybody has 10+ acres, so the next door neighbor really is a couple of miles away), but it was a good time. Didn’t get enough sledding in, but lots of family time.

I even got good sermon illustrations too, which is important. Used a couple today – don’t you think that in Luke 2, when the angels appear to the shepherds to announce the birth of the Christ child, that today in the USA he’d appear to cattle ranchers and loggers? I do.

Mom told me I couldn’t use the fact that our septic system backed up into the basement (for the second consecutive family Christmas; make of that what you will) as an illustration for a while.
